We are pleased to introduce to you the Mega Event – Catalunya 2010. The first ever Mega Event to be held in Spain and one which we are hoping will be massive, a joint venture between different geocaching teams, everyone from near and far will be welcome, those who are really far are particularly welcome.

We know that this has already been tried before in our country and its surroundings and the attempt ended in a simple event, but this time, among us all, we are bound to succeed.
We want to respond with the latin force that makes our image to achieve this goal. Therefore, the Mega motto is in Latin, the cradle of the great majority of languages of our countries.

VENI, VIDI, INVENI

For those whose Latin is a little rusty, a little translation:

I came, I saw and I found.

Lloret de Mar has been chosen as the base for the Mega Event because this is a city with more than 1000 years of history, it is a dynamic tourist capital, known throughout the world, it is accustomed to - and geared up to receive a multitude of visitors... Needless to say….. it is also 100% Mediterranean, a perfect representative of the sea which, throughout time, has forged the most impressive characteristics of its bordering countries.
It is easily accessible by land or air: Lloret de Mar is only 30km from Girona Airport, where you can find various low-cost flights and only 80km from Barcelona airport.

Between now and the start of the Mega Event, several teams will get together and between us we will try to put about 100 caches in the area allowing everyone to practice their favorite game whilst at the same time discovering the beautiful sea and mountain surroundings that characterises the area.
We will also organise games, events and other activities which we will tell you more about as and when they are created. In order to keep up to date with all the current activity, we recommend that you register on the official page of the MEGA

We intend to provide maximum attention to the smallest details even if problems arise– which they most likely will, in order to make this Event a meeting place for geocachers where fun, entertainment, communication and exchange of experience will be unforgettable.
